Fresh drop on r/ChatGPTPromptGenius: one tool per slide job, each with a prompt that fits it. The list covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gamma, Copilot in PowerPoint, Gemini in Slides, Napkin AI and Beautiful.ai. That’s seven tools and seven short prompts, and none of them leave you staring at an empty slide.
The usual advice is to dump your notes into one tool and hope. This list matches the tool to the job. Outlining is one job. Building a recap deck is another. Drawing a diagram is a third. Treating them as the same task is why so many AI decks come out bloated and samey.
What’s new
The author (u/Noire8161) pairs each tool with one short prompt:
- ChatGPT: “Turn these notes into a 6-slide outline with one-sentence headlines and speaker notes.” This is your quick structure pass when you just need something to react to.
- Claude: “Find the three decisions and two open questions in these notes, then structure a slide outline around them.” This one is for messy, long notes where the real content is buried.
- Gamma: “Recap deck for [audience]. Decisions, owners, deadlines, open questions. Illustrations, no stock photos.” Good when you want a finished-looking deck fast.
- Copilot in PowerPoint: “Create a presentation from [file] using our template, 8 slides max.” The template mention matters, because it keeps your brand fonts and layouts intact.
- Gemini in Slides: “Add a summary slide with the action items from [doc].” Small, targeted, and perfect for patching an existing deck.
- Napkin AI: paste the decision section to get a diagram. No prompt writing needed, just the right chunk of text.
- Beautiful.ai: “Status update, 5 slides, timeline on slide 3.” It works best when you already know the shape of the deck.
Notice that every prompt is short. None of them tries to explain your whole meeting. Each one gives the tool a single job and a clear output.
The twist
Look at the Claude prompt. It doesn’t ask for slides first. It asks Claude to find the three decisions and two open questions, and then builds the outline around them.
Meeting notes are mostly chatter. A deck built from chatter is a transcript with bullets. A deck built from decisions is something people read. The Gamma prompt does the same thing in different words: decisions, owners, deadlines, open questions. Different tool, same filter.
The prompts also set hard limits: 6 slides, 8 slides max, 5 slides with the timeline on slide 3. The tool can’t pad the deck if you give it a ceiling. Try it once without a cap and you’ll see the difference. You get twelve slides, three of them saying roughly the same thing.
There’s a quieter benefit too. When you ask for decisions and open questions, you also find out what your meeting didn’t settle. If the tool can only find one decision in an hour of notes, that tells you something before you present anything.
Mini-workflow
- 📝 Paste your raw notes into Claude and run the decisions-and-open-questions prompt. You now have the skeleton. Read it once and fix anything the tool got wrong, like a decision that was only floated, not agreed.
- 🧱 Take that skeleton to the tool that matches your setup. Use Copilot if you live in PowerPoint with a template. Use Gemini if you’re in Slides. Use Gamma for a quick recap deck. Swap in the real audience and file name before you hit enter.
- 🔌 In Gamma, use the connector if your notes live in Slack or Notion, so you skip the copy-paste.
- 🗺️ Paste just the decision section into Napkin AI when one slide needs a diagram. Keep the pasted text small. A diagram of a whole meeting is just a tangle.
- Rewrite the headlines yourself at the end. Read them out loud. If one sounds like a press release, change it.
Pro tips
- The author says to rewrite Gamma’s headlines after generation. That is the quickest way to make the deck sound like you.
- Paste charts in by hand. The author notes that generated charts are fiddly, and fixing them takes longer than dropping in your own.
- Swap the bracketed parts, like [audience] and [file], for real details. The prompts work better when they know who the deck is for. A recap for your boss and a recap for a client should not read the same.
- Set a slide cap every time. It forces the tool to cut instead of pad.
- Save your favorite prompt in a notes app. Next week’s meeting takes two minutes instead of twenty, because the setup is already done.
