Ever feel like making a full story with AI video is a total headache? You jump from one tool for images, to another for video, then a third for editing. It’s a mess!
Well, I just saw this incredible post from Tianyu Xu, and he’s completely cracked the code on this. He didn’t just make a cool clip, he recreated the entire 1,500-year-old legend of Mulan (as a cat, “Meow Lan”!) in a single, efficient workflow.
As a beta tester for OpenArt AI’s new Story tool, Tianyu Xu put it through its paces to build his story from scratch. His goal was to capture the true essence of the original tale: family, bravery, and the harsh reality of war.
Here’s the genius workflow he shared:
⚙️ The 4-Step Process
- Research & Storyboard: He started by analyzing the original Chinese literature and used GPT-4o to design the visuals.
- Image Generation: He generated all the necessary images using Sora and OpenArt.
- Video Generation: This is where I was blown away. He used OpenArt’s Story tool to animate his images. He just dragged a file, wrote a prompt, and boom—animated clip.
- Editing & Music: Still inside OpenArt, he switched to the Timeline view to adjust speed, make cuts, and add his own Suno-generated music.
💡 The Game-Changer
According to Tianyu, the real magic was in steps 3 and 4. The ability to generate, iterate, and edit all in one UI saved him an insane amount of time.
He estimates he would have spent 2x or 3x longer on this project without OpenArt’s unified workflow.
This is a huge leap forward for AI storytelling! We’re moving from clunky processes to streamlined, creative filmmaking.
