The Rundown
Adobe just unveiled a significant upgrade to its Firefly AI platform during the MAX London event. The update includes two fresh image generation models, partnerships with other tech players, a shared workspace, and plans for a mobile version.
The Details
The latest Firefly Image Model 4 and 4 Ultra deliver sharper, more lifelike results with better customization and quicker processing, supporting outputs up to 2K resolution. The web version now connects with outside tools such as OpenAI’s GPT ImageGen, Google’s Imagen 3 and Veo 2, plus Black Forest Labs’ Flux 1.1 Pro. Firefly’s text-to-video feature has moved past testing, and its text-to-vector tool is officially available. A beta version of Firefly Boards lets teams collaborate on AI-driven mood boards, while a mobile app is in the works. Adobe ensures all its models are legally compliant for commercial use, with a new feature adding metadata to clarify AI involvement in projects.
Why It Stands Out
While competitors like OpenAI have disrupted creative processes, Adobe’s emphasis on legal safety and inclusion of rival models within Firefly lets professionals stick with familiar tools. This approach maintains user loyalty while offering the versatility to tap into other systems when needed.
