AI Animal Olympics Judged by Gemini 1.5 Pro

You’ve seen those wild AI videos of cats doing perfect 10-meter dives, right? Well, I couldn’t resist trying to build my own AI-powered sports event. And let me tell you, it’s a game-changer.

I created a full-on diving championship where everything, from the athletes to the judges, is powered by AI. It’s awesome.

⚙️ The Championship Playbook

It’s actually pretty straightforward. Here’s how I did it:

  1. 1️⃣ Create the Divers: First, I needed athletes. I used GPT-4o to generate images for all my competitors, which included a whole zoo of animals.
  2. 2️⃣ Animate the Dives: To bring them to life, I used a text-to-video model called Hailuo 02. The key was a solid prompt. Here’s the magic formula I used:

“TV broadcast of a high diving competition, tracking shot, a [player] approaches the platform, pauses, springs into the air, twisting and tumbling before slicing into the water, clean background with all billboards and banners reading ‘AI’, a group of animals on the audience seats”

  3. 3️⃣ The AI Judge: This is where things get insane. I fed the generated videos into Gemini 1.5 Pro and asked it to score each dive based on official Olympic rules. It actually analyzed the form, entry, and technique!

✨ The Verdict

Honestly, while the AI videos are cool, the AI judging is what really blew my mind. It gave some surprisingly reasonable analysis, even if the “athletes” were all different shapes and sizes.

(Though, I have to say, my T-Rex got a 0.0 and I think it was robbed! 😂)

Think the AI judge got it right? Which animal do you think should’ve won?
