AI Animates Da Vinci’s Genius with GPT-4o

Ever wonder what historical geniuses would think of today’s tech? I know I have.

Well, I just stumbled upon an incredible post from Tianyu Xu who did something mind-blowing. He used AI to bring Leonardo da Vinci back to life to discuss his inventions!

Inspired by da Vinci’s aerial screw (basically an early helicopter design), Tianyu Xu posed a brilliant question: What if the master himself could see and use AI? Would he be amazed or unimpressed?

So, he created an entire video episode around it. Here’s a peek at the tech stack he used:

  • 🧠 AI Brains & Voices: GPT-4o
  • 🎨 Image Generation: Flux Kontext Pro
  • 🎬 Video Creation: Veo 3 Fast & Kling v2.1
  • ⚙️ Workflow Automation: Flow & Weavy

But this wasn’t just a push-button project. Tianyu makes it clear that a ton of human effort went into the scripts, prompts, and video editing to bring it all together. It’s a perfect example of human-AI collaboration.

The result is a super cool “edutainment” video that feels like a history lesson from the future. I love how he’s using AI not just for productivity, but for pure imagination and storytelling.

This is just my quick take, but you have to check out the full post from Tianyu Xu to see the video for yourself. It’s an awesome project!
