Ever wish you could just build a little AI-powered app to solve a specific problem without learning to code? I just saw a video from an AI professional that blew my mind, and he showcased a new tool from Google that lets you do exactly that.
✨ Google’s New “Opal” Tool
The big news is a tool called Opal, which the YouTuber says is now available in the US. It lets you create custom AI workflows, or “mini-apps,” just by describing what you want them to do in plain English. It’s wild.
The creator put it to the test right away. First, he remixed an existing “Blog Post Writer” app by telling it to “add a TLDR section.” The AI just automatically updated the workflow: it was awesome!
Then, he built one from scratch, telling it to research recent AI news and create a bulleted list with sources. Opal generated the entire multi-step workflow for him, and it worked perfectly. I think this is a total game-changer for non-coders.
⚙️ More Cool Tools Tested
This innovator also ran through a bunch of other new tools. Here are the highlights:
- 🚀 Leonardo V3 Fast: A new, cheaper, and faster video generation model. The creator generated a video of “Bigfoot shooting a selfie video” that was hilarious and took just over a minute.
- 🖼️ Higgsfield Steal: This is a wild one. This channel installed a Chrome extension that lets you right-click on any image on the web and recreate a similar version in Higgsfield. The person who shared it did note it requires a manual installation, so proceed with caution!
- 🤫 Proton Lumo: If you’re concerned about privacy, this one’s for you. The expert showed off this new chatbot from Proton (the email people) that doesn’t save your conversations or train on your data. A great secure alternative.
📰 Rapid-Fire AI News & Drama
The video was packed with news, but here’s the stuff that really caught my eye:
- ✈️ Delta’s AI Pricing: Delta is using AI to figure out the maximum price you’re willing to pay for a ticket. This industry pro pointed out the obvious problem: two people in the same row could pay wildly different prices. I’m with him, that sounds super shady.
- 🤖 Baby Grok is Coming: Elon Musk announced a kid-friendly version of Grok. The creator had a pretty funny take on the guy behind the NSFW AI companion app now making stuff for kids.
- 🏆 Math Geniuses: Both OpenAI and Google DeepMind announced their models reached “gold medal” level at the International Math Olympiad.
The mind behind this video explained why this is a big deal: it shows these general AIs are becoming elite at narrow skills, which is a huge step forward.
There was so much more in the video, including new Google Photos features, the rumored August release for GPT-5, and an update on the ChatGPT Agent.
