One guy on r/PromptEngineering did something oddly interesting. He used GPT to stress-test an idea, the model basically demolished it, and then he published the whole session anyway.
The idea: share raw AI transcripts online so other prompters can watch real sessions unfold. Messy, unfiltered, actual thinking on the screen.
By turn 2, GPT had already flagged the problem. Once you know you’re creating an artifact to share, you start performing. The session stops being authentic and becomes a demo. The model called it out directly.
Turn 4 is where it gets strange. He asks GPT to examine the comedy in the fact that the model just torpedoed the idea, but that might be the whole point. The session was supposed to test whether sharing sessions is useful. The verdict: it’s partly performative. That verdict became the artifact.
Flawed idea, examined honestly, published as-is. That’s actually more useful than a polished 15-turn showcase.
How to run your own idea pressure-test:
- 📝 State the idea plainly in turn 1. Don’t defend it. Just ask for analysis.
- Ask for 10 angles to examine the core tension or contradiction in the concept.
- Pick the two sharpest angles and expand each to 1,000+ words.
- 💥 Then ask: “What does this analysis actually break about the original idea?”
- If the idea survives, you know it’s solid. If it breaks, you just saved yourself from shipping something half-baked.
Pro tip: The most useful sessions are the ones where the model disagrees with you. Confirmation bias is free. Productive friction costs one extra prompt.
