Microsoft Copilot 3D: Turn Images into 3D for Free!

Keeping up with AI news feels like trying to drink from a firehose, right? Just last week was a whirlwind, and I just watched a video from an AI professional that uncovered some awesome stuff that got buried under all the big headlines.

He found some seriously cool tools you can actually use right now.

🛠️ Turn Any Image Into a 3D Model

I was blown away when I saw this. Microsoft rolled out a new project called Copilot 3D, and it’s completely free! The expert in the video showed how you can upload any image, whether it’s AI-generated or a real photo from your phone, and it spits out a 3D model in about 15-20 seconds. It’s insanely fast.

He tested it with two things:

  • An AI image: He generated a wild picture of “hard shell taco roller skates.” Copilot 3D turned it into a surprisingly good 3D object.
  • A real photo: He snapped a picture of his guitar, and the tool created a 3D version of it. While it wasn’t perfect, it was a fantastic starting point for game assets or even 3D printing.

This is a game-changer for creators, game devs, or anyone who just wants to play around with 3D. You can find it in the “Labs” section of Microsoft Copilot.

✨ More Cool Tools You Missed

The YouTuber didn’t stop there. Here are a few other things he shared:

  • 📌 Video Generation in Perplexity: If you’re a Perplexity Pro user, you can now generate up to 5 videos a month (15 for Max users). The creator tested it with both a text prompt (“cowboy riding a kangaroo on a volcano”) and by animating an image of a “Mountain Dew river.” It works great and even adds sound!
  • 📌 AI Video Overviews in NotebookLM: Google’s NotebookLM got a massive upgrade. The expert showed how you can feed it sources (articles, sites, etc.) and it will now generate a full-on, slideshow-style explainer video with a voiceover. The quality is seriously impressive.
  • 📌 Claude and Gemini Get a Memory: This is huge! Just like ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude can now remember your past conversations to give you more personalized and relevant answers. The creator tested it, and it worked perfectly. Gemini is rolling out the same feature, though it wasn’t live on his account just yet.

🍿 The Silicon Valley Reality Show

The video also covered the latest drama, which is always entertaining. We saw Elon Musk and Sam Altman publicly feuding on X, Microsoft trying to poach AI talent from Meta with multi-million dollar offers, and one of the co-founders of xAI leaving the company.

It’s amazing how much happens in a single week. The video’s creator did an awesome job breaking it all down.

For the full deep-dive and to see all the demos in action, make sure to watch the original video from this innovator, as he explains it all perfectly!
