Ever have an amazing video idea, but getting an AI like Veo 3 to actually create it feels like a total struggle? I’ve been there. You describe what you want, and the result is… close, but not quite right. It can be super frustrating!
That’s why I was so pumped to find this awesome framework called CASCADE. It’s a simple prompting checklist that has been a total game-changer for my video success rate.
⚙️ Here’s How It Works
CASCADE is an acronym that helps you structure your prompt with all the key details the AI needs. Think of it as a recipe for a perfect video:
- 📌 Camera: What’s the shot type, angle, or style?
- 📌 Ambiance: What’s the lighting? Time of day?
- 📌 Subject: Who or what is the star of the show?
- 📌 Context: Where is this happening? What’s the background?
- 📌 Action: What is the subject doing? Is there motion?
- 📌 Dialogue: Is anyone saying anything?
- 📌 Emotion: What’s the feeling or expression?
💡 A Quick Pro-Tip
You don’t need to write the labels (like “Camera:”) in your final prompt. Just use the astructure to build a rich, descriptive sentence. It’s that easy!
For vlogs, you’ll want to pay extra attention to the Camera, Subject, and Dialogue parts.
✍️ Putting It Into Action
My friend Michael DUFOUR shared a really funny meme, and I couldn’t resist turning it into a video using this method. Here’s basically what the prompt looked like:
“A vlog camera shot from inside a tractor during a misty golden hour, showing a thoroughbred horse in a wheat field. The horse moves closer to the camera with a happy expression and says: ‘Technology is amazing!’”
See how it covers all the bases? It’s all about adapting and mastering these new tools. The more you experiment, the better your results will be!
