Claude AI Can Now Create and Edit Files

The pace of AI updates is absolutely relentless, but every so often, a feature drops that completely changes how you can use a tool.

I was trying to catch up on the last couple of weeks of news and felt totally swamped. Then I stumbled upon a fantastic roundup video that covered everything. The creator did an awesome job demoing a ton of new tools and features that you need to see.

One of the biggest updates is from Anthropic’s Claude. It can now create and edit files directly in the chat window! We’re talking about Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides, and PDFs. The expert in the video uploaded a complex research paper and simply prompted Claude to “Turn this PDF into a colorful slide deck.” After a few moments, it generated a downloadable PowerPoint presentation breaking down the entire document. He also tested it by asking for an Excel spreadsheet comparing stock prices for Nvidia, Microsoft, and Apple, and it pulled the data and built the file on the spot. This is a massive step for using AI in a practical workflow.

This AI professional also highlighted a few other updates that are worth knowing about:

  • 📌 New Image Editor on the Scene: ByteDance (the company behind TikTok) released a new model called Seedream 4.0. It works a lot like Nano Banana, letting you edit images with text prompts. The creator tested it by taking a group photo and asking it to change the background to the New York skyline at night, and it did a pretty solid job.
  • 💡 AI Podcasts Get More Interesting: Google’s NotebookLM updated its audio overview feature. You can now generate different styles of audio summaries from your documents, including a “Debate” mode where two AI voices argue different sides of your topic. I think this is a really creative way to explore complex subjects.
  • ✅ Live Translation is Here: The new Apple AirPods Pro 3 will have live translation built right in. During the demo, two people speaking different languages could have a conversation in real-time. This kind of tech is quickly becoming standard, breaking down language barriers for everyone.

This is just a small sample of what was covered. The original poster went through about 30 different news items and demos, so check out the full video for the complete breakdown.
