Yesterday a small tool called TextFancy dropped on the Chrome Web Store. The premise is simple: highlight a rough prompt anywhere in your browser, pick a tone, and the extension rewrites it into something cleaner and more effective using the OpenAI API.
The twist is that it happens right on the page you’re already on. No copy-pasting into a separate tab, no jumping into a prompt editor, no context switching at all. The rewrite comes back to you exactly where you started.
How It Works
- 🔹 Install TextFancy from the Chrome Web Store
- 🔹 Highlight any rough prompt or draft text on any page
- 🔹 Choose a tone or style from the extension popup
- 🔹 Get a rewritten, more effective version back via OpenAI
- 🚀 Paste it wherever you need it and keep moving
Pro Tip: This works especially well when you’re already inside a web-based AI interface. Select your rough draft, enhance it without leaving the tab, paste it back. The workflow never breaks.
The builder is still collecting honest feedback from people who write prompts regularly: are the tone options actually useful? What’s missing for real workflows? If that’s you, it’s worth five minutes. Try it and tell them what’s broken.
